Accessibility Statement

An education for every student. A site for every visitor.

Great Hearts America is committed to making this site usable by everyone, including visitors who navigate by keyboard, use screen readers, prefer reduced motion, or access the web on lower-spec connections.

Standard

We target Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. Where we fall short, we welcome being told.

What's built in

  • Skip-to-content link visible on keyboard focus
  • Focus-visible outlines on every interactive element
  • An in-page Ergonomic Mode toggle (bottom-right of every page) that disables scroll-driven motion, animations, and parallax. Honors your operating system's prefers-reduced-motion setting by default.
  • Descriptive alt text on all informational images
  • Semantic HTML (real headings, real lists, real buttons)
  • Mobile-first responsive layout

What we're still working on

  • Spanish translations beyond the existing Inscríbase landing page
  • Full per-campus subdomain shadowing (each academy's faculty roster, calendar, news in our IA)
  • Captioned video on virtual tours (currently embedded YouTube — captions where YouTube provides them)

Report a barrier

If something on this site is not working for you — a missing alt text, a contrast issue, a broken keyboard flow — please write to questions@greatheartsamerica.org with the page and a brief description. Network communications routes accessibility reports within two business days.
