Teach in the tradition.

Latin, Euclid, the Great Books — to students who want to be there. Forty-seven academies. Four states. Eighty open requisitions in the network's hiring system today.

Why Teach at Great Hearts

The classroom you have read about, but rarely seen.

A real curriculum.

Latin from grade four. Euclid at the board in seventh. Humane Letters as the spine of the upper school. The texts you would teach if no one was watching the clock.

Two-teacher classrooms.

Every K–5 classroom is staffed with two adults — a lead teacher and an associate. Smaller groups, faster feedback, real mentorship for new faculty.

Virtue formation.

Truth, beauty, and goodness are not slogans here. The school exists to form the moral imagination, and faculty are trusted as the ones who do that work.

APEX School Leadership Program

For faculty who will lead the next generation of academies.

APEX is the network's residency for headmasters and deans — taught by sitting heads of school, embedded in operating campuses, and graduated into headmaster posts as the network grows. Faculty with at minimum one year of classroom teaching may apply. Network employees attend at no cost; non-Great-Hearts faculty pay $250 per course (roughly 12–16 hours of instruction over four to six weeks).

Faculty Voices

What teaching here actually sounds like.

We read Virgil here — actually read him, in the Latin, with sixth-graders who can parse the ablative absolute. This is the only place I have ever taught where the curriculum trusts the student.
Latin Master · Preparatory Academy
Two teachers, twenty-six children, six hours a day. Singapore Math — concrete, then pictorial, then abstract. By second grade, mine can explain why long division works. They can also recite the Pledge in Latin.
Lower School Teacher · Archway
I was a public-school principal for twelve years before I came to Great Hearts. The first thing I noticed was that the parents were on our side. The second thing I noticed was that the teachers were trusted to teach.
