U.S. Secretary of Education kicks off her national tour at Great Hearts Harveston.

The opening stop of "Return Education to the States."

Secretary Linda McMahon began her national listening tour at Great Hearts Harveston in Baton Rouge — joined by U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, Congresswoman Julia Letlow, Louisiana State Superintendent Cade Brumley, and Great Hearts co-founder and CEO Jay Heiler. Lower School Headmaster Drew Thomas hosted; the visit included a tour of K–9 classrooms and a roundtable with Harveston families.

$10 million in scholarships, two National Merit Finalists, one perfect ACT.

Scottsdale Preparatory Academy's class of 2025 earned $10 million in college scholarships and produced two National Merit Finalists with a class-average SAT of 1341 — three hundred thirteen points above the national average. Atish Bala graduated with a perfect 36 ACT and is bound for Princeton.

Veritas Preparatory Academy seniors earn $7M in college scholarships.

The founding Great Hearts campus, Veritas Prep in Phoenix, sent its 2025 graduating class to college with $7 million in offered scholarships and a class-average SAT of 1253 — 225 points above the national average. The class produced graduates bound for the University of Chicago, Notre Dame, the U.S. Military Academy, and Hillsdale College.

2026 National Merit Finalists: Atish Bala, Dharshan Vijayakumar.

Two Great Hearts seniors named 2026 National Merit Finalists. Atish Bala (Scottsdale Prep, AZ) earned a perfect 36 on the ACT and accepted admission to Princeton. Dharshan Vijayakumar (Great Hearts Forest Heights, San Antonio) joins him as the network's second Finalist of the year.

Great Hearts Texas issues $48 million in education revenue bonds.

The Texas Public Finance Authority Charter School Finance Corporation issued $48,095,000 in revenue bonds on behalf of Great Hearts Texas — underwritten by Robert W. Baird & Co. — to refinance prior debt and fund new campus construction in the San Antonio and Dallas–Fort Worth markets.

National Symposium for Classical Education — Phoenix, June 2026.

The Great Hearts Institute hosts its annual National Symposium for Classical Education in Phoenix, with confirmed keynotes from Doug Lemov (Teach Like a Champion), Jeffrey Rosen (National Constitution Center), and Christopher Perrin (ClassicalU). Registration via institute.greatheartsamerica.org.

Great Hearts Harveston welcomes its first ninth-grade class.

Harveston added grade 9 in fall 2025 — the first cohort of upper-school students in the network's Louisiana footprint. Upper School Headmaster Julie Harris will guide the class through Humane Letters, Euclid, and Latin through Virgil over the next four years, growing one grade per year through 2028.
