Complete a brief online interest form for the academy of your choice. There is no application fee and no entrance examination — the form simply places your child's name in the enrollment pool.

III

Attend an Information Session

We strongly encourage families to attend an information session before enrollment. These sessions are held at each academy throughout the year and give you a genuine sense of what a Great Hearts education looks like — and requires.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked

Is there really no tuition?

Yes. Great Hearts academies are public charter schools, funded entirely by the state. There are no tuition fees, no fundraising requirements, and no cost to enroll.

Is there an entrance exam?

No. Great Hearts does not require an entrance exam, application essay, or interview. Enrollment is open to all students in the states we serve.

What grades do you serve?

Most Great Hearts academies serve Grades K through 8. Several campuses offer Grades 9 through 12. The full grade range varies by academy — check the Academies directory for details.

What if there are no seats available?

Your child's name remains in the enrollment pool. When a seat opens, families are contacted in the order they were added. Some families wait a year or more; we encourage you to express interest as early as possible.

Do you accept students with IEPs or learning differences?

Yes. As a public charter school, Great Hearts is required by law to serve all eligible students, including those with Individualized Education Programs. Contact your local academy's enrollment office to discuss specific needs.
